We are excited to partner with a long-term Minnesota-based client to identify their next Executive VP of Marketing! Our client is privately-held, and has an incredible track record of growth & product innovation over their 50 years in business. Despite their stable history, this role is a BUILD role; think new products, innovation, and services!

Reporting to the CEO and part of the executive team, the EVP of Marketing will lead a team of 20 in Marketing & Product and take their existing products, applications, and services into new markets by leveraging an existing brand and market position. 

*** This position is located in Minneapolis, MN. Our client maintains a hybrid work environment, so this person would need to commute to their headquarters regularly. ***

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning:
  • Lead and execute on a strategic marketing plan that supports the overall business strategy, optimizes the development of products and services in defined markets that reflects our client's brand promise and understanding of unique needs of various customer sets.
  • Develop short- and long-term marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, drive customer acquisition, and enhance customer retention. Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Further develop an all-star team of marketing subject-matter-experts, provide tactical guidance, prioritization, and cohesion to marketing activities that make a positive impact on the business. Brand Management:
  • Oversee the development and execution of brand strategy, ensuring consistent messaging and positioning across all channels.
  • Maximize opportunities for customer intelligence, lead generation, and product/brand awareness through marketing automation.
  • Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media, content, PR, and traditional marketing channels.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Drive customer-centric marketing strategies that align with the customer journey and enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Stay aligned to industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the company at the forefront of marketing innovation. Partnerships and Collaborations:
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, advocates, influencers, and agencies to enhance marketing efforts.
  • Partner with sales leadership to implement and execute a robust lead generation and nurturing engine, resulting in qualified leads and opportunities which translate to top-line revenue growth.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of marketing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
  • A track record of recruiting, motivating, and developing high-performing marketing teams through leadership.
  • Prior experience taking related applications, products, and/or services into new markets by leveraging an existing brand and market position.
  • Proven success supporting sales organizations with innovative marketing programs and pipeline-building activities that complement corporate sales goals.
  • Strong content/insight development and story-telling capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, and data-driven marketing.
