New Product Development Engineer
Our client is a quickly growing and well established Manufacturing company located in Winsted, MN. To expand their reach, they are looking for a New Product Development Engineer to accommodate new clientele. The New Product Development Engineer to lead the design, development, and launch of new products. This role involves managing projects from concept to production, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and cost objectives. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality, to drive innovation and deliver customer-focused solutions.
Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities:
- Product Design: Create and develop innovative product designs using CAD tools, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and compliance with customer requirements.
- Project Management: Lead new product development projects, establishing timelines, budgets, and milestones to ensure successful product launches.
- Prototyping: Oversee the creation and testing of prototypes, analyzing results to refine designs.
- Collaboration: Work with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to ensure seamless transition from design to production.
- Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or performance.
- Market Analysis: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand customer needs and industry trends to inform product development efforts.
- Process Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for new product designs, including specifications, drawings, and test results.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to existing products based on feedback and performance data.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product development or a similar engineering role.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with prototyping and testing methodologies.
