Katy Thieman

Director, Marketing & Creative Practice

Katy grew up in Edina, MN, and attended Miami University in Ohio. She now lives in Hopkins, MN, with her husband Andy and their two kids, Jack and Lucy. The Thieman family loves spending time at their cabin in Spooner, WI, visiting Santa Barbara, and doting on their dogs, Holly and Chubbs.

Before joining SkyWater, Katy co-founded Shine Mpls, a boutique recruiting firm specializing in marketing and advertising talent. She partnered with clients for nine years to build creative teams, place key leaders, and identify rising stars. Her career also includes a decade of experience at major retailers like Target and JCPenney and leading accounts for several Minneapolis-based advertising agencies.

Outside of work, Katy and her husband are passionate supporters of cancer research organizations and dog rescue programs. Katy also co-coaches her son’s soccer team (go PVU!), cheers on her daughter in gymnastics, and finds joy in running. During the summer, she loves spending as much time as possible Up North.
