Staff Accountant
SkyWater is partnering with a prominent healthcare provider in the Twin Cities to help them find their next Staff Accountant! Our client experienced some significant growth over the last few years and is currently a $300M business, with no plans of slowing down! My client is optimistic that this new hire will embrace the company’s growth mindset as they progress in their career within the organization (the sky is the limit in terms of growth here!!!)
Here is what we are looking for:
- A few years of accounting experience- someone who is comfortable closing the books and preparing journal entries
- Someone who enjoys working shoulder to shoulder with leadership!
- Ability to work 3 days in office, the other two days you can work from home (we love flexibility!)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field (this one is a non-negotiable)

Responsibilities
- Manages daily accounting operations, including general ledger functions, accounts payable, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting.
- Ensures financial record systems comply with applicable accounting principles and relevant regulations.
- Prepares journal entries, gathers and analyzes data, prepares reports, and communicates findings to management.
- Responsible for reconciling credit card and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assists in preparing financial and operational reports on a regular basis.
- Updates process documentation and participates in or leads process improvement initiatives.
- Prepares schedules and supporting documentation for annual audits.
- Assists with other tasks and projects as assigned.
- Ensures compliance with relevant privacy and confidentiality regulations, handling sensitive information responsibly.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required)
- CPA (preferred)
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in general ledger, month-end close process, and
- financial statement preparation (required)
- Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations (required)
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency level working in Excel and various accounting software
- programs (preferred)
- Ability to pass background study.
