Senior Accountant
SkyWater is partnering with an employee-owned trucking company looking to hire their next Senior Accountant. The role will work directly with the Controller and be the lead of the accounting team and be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulations, and contributing to strategic financial initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of accounting experience with experience in transportation, supply chain or logistic industry preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
- Review the technical accounting functions and ensure results are reported in accordance with US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Manages daily accounting operations, including general ledger functions, accounts payable, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting
- Direct the month-end close process, including general ledger and sub-ledger reconciliations and by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
- Partner with Controller and CFO to prepare and distribute monthly and annual financial statements
- Prepares journal entries, gathers and analyzes data, prepares reports, and communicates findings to management
- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing financial analysis and insights to management
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or 5+ years of practical experience in accounting
- 5+ years of total experience, preferably within transportation, supply chain or logistics
- Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations
- Financial statement preparation
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with a proactive approach to challenges
