SkyWater is partnering with a leading construction company in the Twin Cities that is looking to hire a Project Accounting Controller to oversee a region that has on average 30 large projects happening at any moment.
The Project Accounting Controller lead all aspects of project financial management. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing job costing, revenue recognition, billing, and compliance across a portfolio of construction projects.
The ideal candidate will bring deep construction accounting expertise, strong leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to financial oversight.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all project accounting functions, including job cost tracking, WIP reporting, and budget-to-actual analysis
- Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition and compliance with GAAP and contract terms
- Lead the month-end close process for project-related financials and coordinate with corporate finance
- Collaborate with project managers and operations leadership to drive financial performance and accountability
- Establish and maintain internal controls specific to project accounting processes
- Review contracts and financial setups for new projects, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements
- Support external audits and reporting requirements related to project financials
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8 + years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a project or construction accounting role
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
