Our client is a precision metal fabrication company based in the north metro of the Twin Cities, and have a reputation for solving complex manufacturing challenges. The company has capabilities and services which include laser cutting, bending, welding, machining, and finishing. They serve OEM customers in several industries across the U.S. such as industrial equipment, agriculture, aerospace/defense, powersports, and emerging markets. With engineering-driven solutions they have established long-term strategic partnerships. They are seeking a VP of Sales to work closely with the President and leadership group to develop strategy, drive new business, manage key relationships, and build out a team. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a sales strategy that supports growth initiatives
  • Set clear KPIs and performance goals; track progress and make data-driven adjustments
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape market positioning and brand strategy
  • Lead all sales activities including pipeline development, forecasting, budgeting, and closing
  • Identify and penetrate high-growth markets
  • Analyze competitive landscapes and industry trends to shape targeting strategies
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer sites
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing sales and business development team.
  • Work closely with internal teams including engineering, operations, quality, and finance to align on customer requirements and timelines

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of sales leadership experience, with at least 5 years in metal fabrication or contract manufacturing
  • Proven track record of business development while scaling key accounts
  • Demonstrated success managing sales teams
  • Experience selling technical solutions in B2B environments
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to engage in technical discussions with engineers
  • Experience hiring, mentoring, and managing distributed sales teams
