Accounting Manager
SkyWater is excited to partner with a rapidly growing manufacturing company expanding its operations in the northwest metro. As they continue to scale, they are seeking an Accounting Manager to play a key role in building out and strengthening their accounting function locally.
This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and enjoys being hands-on. The Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and general ledger management. This role will also be responsible for preparing and verifying financial statements.
Supervisory experience is required, as this position will manage a team of three direct reports.
This is an on-site role with flexibility located in the northwest metro of the Twin Cities. Local candidates will only be considered.
Responsibilities
Partner with the Director of Finance to support key business objectives and strategic planning. Lead and mentor direct reports, Manage month-end close, including financial statement preparation and supporting documentation. Analyze monthly financial results and collaborate with FP&A to explain variances vs. budget, forecast, and prior year. Ensure proper cost center and project coding in alignment with budgets, working with analysts and AP. Oversee daily accounting operations and maintain accurate general ledger and sub-ledger records. Perform monthly reconciliations for AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets, and ROU assets. Maintain inventory and asset accounting across multiple locations; ensure accuracy through ERP data and physical counts. Work with plant and supply chain teams on inventory tracking and reporting. Support treasury, tax, risk management, budgeting, and capital planning efforts. Drive process improvements and maximize ERP system capabilities. Ensure consistent financial reporting policies and internal controls across all entities. Coordinate internal audits and support external audit processes.
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting At least 2 years of experience in leading a team Manufacturing industry experience Ability to travel internationally
