Director of Finance
SkyWater is thrilled to partner with a well-established resort in Northern Minnesota to help them find their next Director of Finance.
This is a high-impact role working closely with the CFO to streamline processes, improve financial performance, and influence strategy across the organization. You’ll lead a small team and oversee core functions like budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, while driving cross-departmental change and improvement.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation and management of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Prepare financial reports and coordinates with external partners to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Monitor overall spending and payroll activity, making strategic adjustments as needed.
- Provide financial guidance to senior leadership to support key business goals.
- Manage risk-related programs and collaborates with relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Focus on building a strong, capable team and supporting ongoing professional development.
- Prepare materials for executive-level financial reviews.
- Continuously evaluate and improves internal processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Partner with other departments to align financial operations with broader organizational objectives.
- Ensure adherence to company standards and supports consistency across teams.
- Offer operational support where needed to help maintain smooth day-to-day functions.
Desired Skills and Experience
- BA Degree in accounting, finance or hospitality highly desired
- Demonstrated strength in budgeting and forecasting, with the ability to translate financial insights into strategic recommendations.
- Previous management experience/ leadership experience required
- Proven ability to lead hospitality/resort accounting and/or finance teams
- Strong Excel skills required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to actively listen and influence effectively.
