Director of Manufacturing
SkyWater is partnering with an existing client who’s looking for a Director of Manufacturing to their site in Atlanta! This person will be overseeing a team of 6 direct reports with roughly 140 indirect across multiple shifts. The Director of Manufacturing will also be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day manufacturing & production operations while leading continuous improvement initiatives & implementing lean manufacturing principles at the site. The role is open due to growth and we’re looking for a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys developing & growing their team members. Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily manufacturing operations while placing an emphasis on safety & quality at the site.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to drive efficiencies & operational excellence.
- Grow & develop site team members while maintaining a positive work culture.
- Partner with company leadership on strategic initiatives as needed.
- Other projects or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. o MBA or Master’s Degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience working in manufacturing with at least 3+ years of management experience (ideally leading large teams).
- Experience working in machinery manufacturing, metal fabrication or a related industry.
- Strong experience implementing lean manufacturing principles or leading continuous improvement initiatives.
