Production Scheduler
Reports to: Planning Manager

Purpose
Coordinate and analyze daily and weekly production schedules, customer orders, and shipping/receiving records to ensure that finished product inventory aligns with customer demand.

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan, manage, and expedite the production schedule to achieve on-time delivery for customers.
  • Schedule and release work orders to manufacturing to ensure timely order initiation and efficient processing through the plant to meet deadlines.
  • Lead planning processes for BPL/TMP production.
  • Partner with purchasing to address supply constraints impacting production plans.
  • Serve as the main contact for operations to help resolve order commitments, customer delivery challenges, and demand/supply discrepancies.
  • Build and sustain positive working relationships with internal departments to support operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with inventory staff to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Coordinate with the aftermarket spare parts department to ensure the availability of parts to meet customer demand, facilitating shortage review meetings as needed.
  • Support the training of new team members in SAP and production planning processes used at SAI.
  • Review MRP messages and perform necessary updates.
  • Assess and allocate stock availability and determine the best approach for releasing work orders.
  • Analyze and update material master settings in SAP.
  • Create, release, monitor, and expedite work orders as required.
  • Work with buyers to prioritize external service requirements.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly metric reports.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

Physical Demands

  • Perform sedentary work on a computer and office equipment for approximately 90% of the time.
  • Move within the office and production areas 10% of the time to access files, equipment, and communicate with team members.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field required.
  • APICS Certification preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in planning and/or purchasing.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Proficiency with SAP.
  • Strong understanding of fabricated and welded parts for heavy equipment.
  • Excellent customer service, project management, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities and complex tasks.
