Investment Operations Associate
A local independent investment firm with more than $11B in AUM is looking for an Investment Operations Associate.
This person will take a leading role in supporting investment and accounting operations at the firm. This role encompasses client account onboarding, maintenance, client billing, portfolio accounting, performance reporting, trading, reconciliation, firm-wide reporting, amongst other functions. This person will work across departments in a highly collaborative and flat organization and will interface with external parties such as brokers and custodian banks.
We are looking for an operationally focused candidate that has knowledge of GIPS compliance and 3-5+ years of experience. We are looking for an analytical, detail-oriented person who isn’t afraid to dig into problems, provide solutions and create efficiencies. Knowledge of investment/financial services a strong plus.

Responsibilities
- Acts as Composite Administrator of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) Program; oversees and maintains GIPS Program.
- Conducts and oversees daily transaction reconciliation process, cost basis and realized gain/loss reconciliations, corporate action processing, quarterly invoice processing, security pricing, and security setup and maintenance.
- Ensure accurate setup and timely processing of new accounts, new broker relationships, and custodians throughout internal systems.
- Ensures accurate and timely account proxy voting setup, maintenance and quarterly/annual proxy vote filing.
- Develops and maintains workflows in Salesforce to ensure tasks are assigned and completed efficiently and accurately.
- Participates in the development, testing, implementation, and monitoring of policies, procedures, workflows, automation, and reporting.
- Produces, reviews, and distributes internal and external reporting, including reports for various Committee meetings.
- Participates in company and SEC regulatory data compliance initiatives, including compliance monitoring, regulatory testing, and filings.
- Assists with audits of the Funds and Adviser.
- Performs and monitors trade affirmation and settlement of market transactions. Resolve trade settlement issues in a timely manner and identify, capture and document trade errors.
- Effectively communicates with third-party vendors, custodians and broker-dealers regarding trades, client set-up and systems issues and ensures proper escalation as needed.
- Collaborates with Investment team and Client Service to support the timely handling of client requests.
- Assists in the development, testing, implementation and training of new technology initiatives.
- Assists with troubleshooting application issues and works with necessary internal or external partners to resolve issues.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field desired.
- Previous asset management experience with focus on investment operations desired.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Possesses outstanding organization skills and the ability to manage and balance multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrates initiative, analytical and problem-solving ability, adaptability and flexibility
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Always maintains a high level of compliance standards
- Understanding of economics and accounting, with a working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
- Proficient with MS Office products, including Power Query
- Proficient with internal and external applications and software used to conduct business
