Lead Accountant
SkyWater is excited to be partnering with the President of a growing, private company in Roseville. MN! We are looking for a Lead Accountant who is interested in career development and the ability to truly make an impact. This role offers leadership opportunities (including managing junior staff) and the ability to drive the month-end close process. As a trusted partner to the company President, you’ll play a pivotal role in an upcoming ERP implementation and contribute to the team’s success while advancing your career.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute month-end close activities.
- Supervise the Accounts Receivable Specialist and provide operational and financial team support.
- Analyze financial information, summarize financial status, and produce special reports and analyses as needed.
- Review and recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations and analyses.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable to ensure accurate expense and cost allocations.
- Manage vendor payments through various methods.
- Oversee purchase order processes and ensure accurate purchase-to-invoice matching.
- Administer and provide user support for the Concur expense management system.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements and cost-saving measures.
- Undertake special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics systems is a plus.
