SkyWater is partnering with a faith-based nonprofit organization on a Senior Payroll Specialist Search. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in managing full-cycle payroll. This individual must be comfortable working independently and collaborating with other departments as needed. A strong background in multi-state payroll processing, tax compliance, and payroll system transitions is essential, as the organization is currently migrating from ADP to UKG.
Key Responsibilities
Process payroll for ~120 national office employees (semi-monthly) and ~500 missionaries (monthly) across two EINs.
Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
Assist in the transition from ADP to UKG, helping to document payroll procedures and implement best practices.
Audit payroll data for accuracy, ensuring correct earnings, deductions, and tax filings.
Manage payroll inquiries, providing timely and professional responses to employees.
Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries for financial reporting.
Coordinate with accounting for financial audits and workers’ compensation audits.
Maintain payroll procedures and recommend process improvements.
Schedule & Work Environment
In-office requirement: On site 5 days a week (with an option for hybrid flexibility after onboarding).

Required Qualifications
5+ years of extensive payroll experience, ideally managing full-cycle payroll.
Alignment with the organization’s Faith Statement.
Experience with multi-state payroll and tax compliance.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Nonprofit payroll experience, particularly with clergy tax laws.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential.
Experience with payroll system implementations (UKG or similar).
