We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Engineering Manager to oversee all engineering operations within our dairy processing facility. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of our plant’s equipment, infrastructure, and systems. This individual will lead a team of engineers and technicians, driving continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the engineering team to ensure the facility operates at optimal efficiency, safety, and compliance levels.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems within the plant.
- Implement and monitor maintenance schedules, ensuring minimum downtime and maximizing production capacity.
- Develop and manage the budget for plant engineering projects, including capital improvement and maintenance plans.
- Drive cost-effective solutions to improve plant efficiency, energy savings, and resource utilization.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex plant equipment and systems issues, coordinating with operations teams to minimize disruptions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and new technologies, applying them to improve plant operations.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, quality control, and operations) to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the plant, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in plant engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of dairy processing equipment, refrigeration systems, electrical controls, and automation.
- Experience in high-speed manufacturing and food industries preferred.
- Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance strategies, and project management.
- Proven ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including food safety, environmental standards, and OSHA compliance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
