Manufacturing Engineer II

The Manufacturing Engineer II position will lead process development design activities including cell design, process layout, and process design. In this role you will be responsible for determining the needs for production & manufacturing processes and working cross-functionally with the design, product, and controls engineering teams to design & develop technologies needed. You will regularly use Autocad for design layout.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full process development projects, ensuring the successful completion of product and production line launch activities in conjunction with other engineering teams.
  • Review engineering specifications, process flows, and manufacturing methods to maximize efficiency and enhance production or service delivery.
  • Design and optimize processes, including teardown/reman and cell layouts, focusing on lean, 5S, ergonomic principles.
  • Collaborate with application and controls teams to determine technology needs for error proofing and in-line testing during the production process.
  • Work closely with Mechanical Engineering (ME) teams to address tooling and fixture requirements.
  • Engage in new product launches or troubleshooting/re-designing existing production lines to improve workflow and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to resolve production issues, minimize costs, and ensure product/process quality.
  • Provide manufacturing insights and support decision-making by calculating production costs, reviewing schedules, and estimating future requirements for efficiency improvements.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Masters Degree in an Engineering related field, mechanical or industrial preferred
  • 3+ years of manufacturing/industrial engineering experience with a Bachelor's Degree, 1+ years with a Master's Degree
  • Proficiency in Autocad and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated experience in process development, cell layout design, process design, and lean manufacturing principles.
