Mechanical Engineer
A leading provider of industrial automation and material handling solutions is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems and components for custom equipment used in high-demand manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components and systems using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and controls engineers, to integrate mechanical designs with automation systems.
- Perform structural and thermal analysis to ensure product reliability and performance.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of assembly.
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to source materials and components.
- Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation.
- Provide engineering support for production, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in industrial automation, material handling, or related industries.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including motion control, pneumatics, and structural design.
- Experience with GD&T, manufacturing processes, and fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of FEA and other simulation tools is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
