Purchasing and Planning Manager
SkyWater is partnering with a new contract manufacturing client in the West Metro to help them find a Purchasing and Planning Manager for their team! This person oversee a team of buyer/planners, engage in daily operations, develop/implement new processes and oversee inventory levels. This company is expecting to add a wide variety of new customers in 2025 and the Purchasing & Planning Manager will be a critical hire in the process. This person will be collaborating with internal department to support operational efficiency. This company has doubled their growth since Covid and are continuing to build out the team!
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy for their processes
- Lead a team of purchasing and planning employees and responsible for hiring and training the supply chain department.
- Serve as a Buyer/Planner while actively leading a team and managing the day to day operations.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives for the supply chain department.
- Monitors inventory by supplier and works to reduce excess, no demand and obsolete inventory.
- Conducts supplier on-site visits to evaluate capabilities, quality processes and to build a partnering relationship.
- Assist logistics process for the development of new products, inventory maintenance, manufacturing, shipment, and delivery, and returns on products
- Define performance metrics for the supply chain team.
- Ensure the necessary supplier contracts agreements are in place and maintained
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
- 5+ years of Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing setting
- 3+ years of experience managing a team
- Working experience using ERP/MRP Software
- Strong attention to detail
- Project Management experience is a plus
- CPM or APICS Certification preferred
