Senior Construction Accountant
SkyWater Search Partners is excited to partner with a reputable Commercial Real Estate/ Construction company who is looking to add a strong accountant to their team. It’s an exciting time to join this growing company, and as the Senior Construction accountant you will be integral part of the construction accounting organization, as well as a trusted business partner to the regional construction Vice Presidents. This role will almost be like a “Mini Controller” of sorts for assigned regions. Our ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation of construction industry experience and will be an exceptional communicator.

Responsibilities
- Generate detailed monthly financial reports for construction projects, highlighting Work in Place (WIP) and key financial metrics.
- Collaborate with Operational Excellence teams to implement and enhance cross-functional initiatives.
- Oversee project accounting processes to ensure alignment with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Partner with regional teams to assess profit margins, analyze variances, address billing issues, and manage contingency plans.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process for construction and field operations, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Manage accounts receivable for construction projects, mitigating financial exposure and ensuring timely collections.
- Work in coordination with Corporate Accounting and FP&A to support accurate and timely quarterly and year-end reporting.
- Validate and reconcile financial data across various systems to maintain accuracy and uniformity in reporting.
- Ensure project property records are accurately maintained to support reliable financial reporting.
- Support leadership with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and other special financial projects as needed.
- Maintain and refine financial projections for projects, focusing on WIP and compliance with reporting requirements.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or business related field of study.
- 4+ years of experience in accounting with a working knowledge of GAAP including percent complete accounting for construction contracts.
- Construction accounting background and experience with Enterprise systems (SAP, JD Edwards, etc.).
