Seeking a remote Project Manager focused on a region of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, or Missouri. This role will require significant travel to client & customer sites. 

Plan, direct and coordinate activities of industrial coatings, scaffolding, and other industrial services projects to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.  Evaluate employee performance in regard to job classification, promotions, etc…  Examine and evaluate blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation necessary to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for projects or services for customers.  Promotes and maintains a safe, accident free, and healthy work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project data to determine material and labor requirements, prepare itemized lists, and compute cost factors for management purposes.
  • Track job progress weekly, providing percent completion updates for job costing and implement corrective actions if the project runs over budget.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Develop and manage client accounts by identifying opportunities for upselling additional services, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Drive sales growth by actively pursuing new business opportunities, preparing and presenting proposals, and negotiating contracts to secure new projects and expand service offerings.
  • Coordinate with the Safety/Human Resource Director to address employee problems, concerns, discipline, and other HR matters.
  • Conduct, review, and act on QA/QC inspections to ensure job quality and adherence to project plans, and address non-compliance issues.
  • Review project proposals and plans to determine time frames, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation
  • Establish work plans and staffing for each project phase, and oversee the recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate project personnel activities to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide technical advice and problem resolution by conferring with project personnel and addressing technical issues as they arise.
  • Handle sales, troubleshooting, and serve as a liaison between customers and field personnel to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Plan and implement policies related to personnel activities, including recruitment, interviewing, and new employee orientation.
  • Assist in job estimation, bidding, and employee education in NCCER and NACE, and evaluate employee performance for potential promotions.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred, not required.
  • 4+ years of project management experience in industrial services, preferably in industrial coatings or scaffolding
  • 4+ years of management experience leading foreman, superintendents, and/or field employees
  • NACE, AMPP, and/or NCCER knowledge and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally in English
