SkyWater Search Partners is representing a large refrigeration manufacturer looking to add a structural designer to their growing team.

Overview

This role involves analyzing and creating structural designs that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements, while ensuring all safety and load-bearing standards are adhered to. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and vendors, to deliver cost-effective and robust structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Analysis: Evaluate plans to determine if additional structural support is required, including considerations for wind and seismic loads.

Design Collaboration: Partner with estimators to assess design requirements and generate a comprehensive list of materials needed for accurate pricing.

Stakeholder Coordination: Work with architects and structural engineers to develop designs that accommodate site-specific conditions.

Cost Efficiency: Serve as the liaison between sales and purchasing departments to ensure the creation of cost-effective structural drawings.

Report Preparation: Compile detailed reports on structural designs, specifying materials, load capacities, and construction methodologies.

Drawing Creation: Develop detailed drawings illustrating the construction and assembly of structural elements.

Material Calculation: Determine the quantity of materials required to meet design specifications.

Vendor Coordination: Prepare fabrication drawings for vendors and ensure designs are fully understood before production begins.

Qualifications

Education: Associate’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.

Experience: Previous experience in structural design and drafting is preferred.

Skills & Expertise

Software Proficiency:  AutoCAD, Inventor

Communication: Strong ability to interact effectively with designers, suppliers, contractors, and team members.

Problem-Solving: Capable of addressing a wide range of structural challenges, from simple applications to complex designs that may involve interior or external elements.
