Vice President of Operations

The Vice President of Operations will utilize proven manufacturing methodologies for process, quality, and production enhancement to create and enforce policies and procedures, develop sound manufacturing strategies, and lead the growth and mentoring of manufacturing staff while driving company success. The perfect candidate possesses excellent analytical and communication abilities, along with a hands-on approach. You grew your career through operations and plant management and will have a proven track record of multi-site manufacturing leadership for a minimum of 10 years.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and technical direction to 1,000+ total reports across all facilities to meet or surpass business objectives, while driving improvement and growth initiatives at multiple sites.
  • Optimize the operation of multiple manufacturing locations by evaluating and enhancing each plant's cost efficiency, quality standards, and service performance.
  • Fulfill customer expectations by managing plant operations in accordance with company policies, while collaborating with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, Supply Chain, HR, Accounting, Finance, and facility teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Align with leadership, engineering, supply chain, production, shipping/receiving, maintenance, quality assurance, and technology centers to effectively oversee all facility operations.
  • Support the executive team in crafting and implementing a comprehensive manufacturing and business strategy that aligns with overall company objectives.
  • Create both short- and long-term plans and investment proposals aimed at securing competitive advantages, improving service leadership, and reducing costs through advanced manufacturing techniques, including automation and technology upgrades.
  • Manage P&L and review financial performance while implementing process improvements to ensure the profitability of business units.
  • Develop and manage capital project budgets focused on cost savings, quality improvements, and production expansion, while creating necessary capital programs to sustain manufacturing competitiveness.
  • Uphold a safe and injury-free workplace by enforcing Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) policies, promoting a clean and secure environment, and conducting regular safety audits to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations by overseeing the development and implementation of policies and procedures that adhere to applicable laws and standards.
  • Lead strategic, tactical, and operational planning for the department, with direct budgetary oversight for one or more departments, functions, or major projects/programs.
  • Oversee staffing responsibilities, including recruitment, salary recommendations, performance evaluations, training and development, workload management, project deadlines, and consistent application of company policies.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience leading manufacturing & operational strategy, development, and execution
  • 10+ years of multi-sit operations leadership at a director level or above
  • 5+ years of multi-site leadership with oversight of production, maintenance, engineering, and quality
  • Strong automotive manufacturing background, preferably with complex assembly and sub-assembly production processes
  • Proven ability to diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems while implementing effective solutions, with strong financial acumen in achieving P&L targets and improving operating income.
  • Skilled in presenting to senior management to influence strategic decisions and in leading, directing, and motivating individuals across various functional areas.
  • Extensive experience in managing cross-functional teams focused on continuous improvement, applying lean/Six Sigma principles in manufacturing, plant operations, and engineering.
  • Significant management experience in the automotive, assembly, or process manufacturing industries, with a track record of hiring, developing, and guiding teams
