Get To Know Brett Ervin
We asked this all-star IT Executive Recruiter a few questions, and here’s what he had to say:
Who is the best mentor you’ve ever had (and why)?
My college basketball coach. Not only was he a coach, but his main focus was also to make you the best human being possible. He showed that by being a role model on & off the court.
What are three things a candidate can do to impress/stand out during a first interview?
1.) Do your research. Not only on the company but also on the people you are meeting. Find any connections you may have with them.
2.) Be outgoing. Those candidates can always be remembered.
3.) Don’t try to perfect your interview. Being calm & laid back can play to your advantage.
What’s one thing you wish all candidates knew about job searching?
Working with recruiters can be very beneficial. When browsing for new jobs myself, I ignored recruiters, but they are in your court & bring you directly to the hiring manager. Making sure your profile/resume is read.
